For the life of her, Astrid couldn't remember the last time she'd felt this…lonely. It definitely wasn't the kind of merciless and terrible loneliness Hiccup used to endure for years. No. It was the bitter and sarcastic loneliness one could feel when something highly improbable and extremely unpleasant happened and when the only thought that came to mind seemed to be an existential question.
Why me?
Astrid sighed angrily for the umpteenth time that day, cursing the Gods under her breath as she tried at all costs to avoid looking at Snotlout – and failing epically- who was currently busy trying to make it clear that he really coul

HTTYD - Prompt: Picnic
"Remind me again, where are we going?" Hiccup asked warily, saddling Toothless up. It was a rare sunny day in the village of Berk, and Astrid had decided that she, Hiccup and their dragons would go on a picnic to make the most of it.
"Not far" Astrid replied, suiting up her Nadder, which she had christened 'Blue'. (Turns out she was as good as coming up with names as Hiccup was) "Just fair enough for some peace"
"Now THAT, I could do with" Hiccup replied with a small grin, pulling himself up onto Toothless's back. Said dragon nodded in agreement, knowing his rider had been swamped with questions and requests from the Vikings of Berk. He's l

Despicable Days
Summary: Gru attempts to fill his role as a father while the girls settle into their permanent family. However, with a Super Villain father and three girls with wildly independent spirits, no task is simple and no day is boring. Chapter 1: It's Margo, Edith and Agnes's first day of school.
Despicable Me was so cute! I've been waiting for the movie to come out for a long time and I wasn't disappointed! I haven't been able to find a Despicable Me fic so I decided to make my own! This isn't exactly a day-by-day massive fic. It's more like a collection of one-shots (some of which are going to be pretty long) that all have to do

PHANTOM PAINS
Hiccup rolled over and groaned. It was one of those days where he didn't want to do anything but sleep.
Hiccup stumbled out of bed, forcing himself into full consciousness, and after scraping together some fish for Toothless, headed down to the cove where the dragon insisted on sleeping, regardless of the fact that he could now sleep in Hiccup's house.
Often, he would wake up in the middle of the night, gasping for breath and clinging to the place his foot used to be, the phantom pains rippling up his legs and throughout his body, and constricting his ability to breathe. Sometimes it even got so bad that he would thrash on
Summary: What happens before and after Hiccup and Astrid's wedding.
Astrid hadn't exactly expected this, but in retrospect she probably should have.
"I thought we were friends!" Ruffnut slurred, weaving in place.
"We are, Ruff," Astrid sighed.
"No -- no, we're not! Friends don't let -- they don't make -- we're not friends!"
"Why not?"
"B-because, yer, yer...what are you doin'?"
"I'm getting married. To Hiccup. In about an hour, so..."
"Yeah! An' I'm s'pose ta be your best friend, but I'm not even in the sssstupid wedding! That's stone cold, Astrid. Like a fox."
"You're drunk," Astrid said.
"Yeah!" Ruffnut said, suddenly cheerf

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III stared down at the copy of the dragon manual. Not the new copy he was helping create, the old one. The KOS, Kill on Sight, version. In his mind, he knew that the little information in this manual wouldn't do for his new version. The KOS version detailed the best way to kill dragons, only listing the bare minimum of facts. And it was so that his plan had formed.
It had begun simply enough the dragons were their friends now, and the old manual was greatly outdated. Of course, who better than the first Viking to ride a dragon to fix it? And so, Hiccup had been commissioned to make the new manual. So, for a few

House Train Your Dragon
Thinking back, Hiccup wondered if fighting the Green Death had actually been the easy part. Life in Berk was so different now, not to mention life in his own house. Sure his father was usually pretty understanding when it came to Toothless but after the dragon had coughed up the umpteenth fish onto the rug he was so proud of, even Stoick the Vast couldn't take it anymore.
"I'm sorry, Hiccup," the large Viking said as he attempted to scrub the smell of regurgitated halibut from the rug. "But that dragon is just not meant to be inside."
"It's not his fault, Dad! He's just...not housetrained yet. Let me have a few more days and I'm sure tha-"

Giant Hiccup Story: Prologue
PROLOGUE
As some of you may already know, my name is Hiccup, and I happen to live in what may be known as the coldest place on Earth: Berk. You may wonder why live somewhere where winter is really the only season and you get hailed on for months straight every year? Well, the only way I really can explain it is that we are Vikings: the most stubborn beings known to man. But what can I say,... it's an occupational hazard!
Now it may sound all bad, but there are a few upsides that make living here tolerable. For instance, we have beautiful scenery, decent fishing, a plentiful supply of fresh water, but what I like most has
Hiccup awoke to hot, fishy smelling breath being blown steadily into his face. He opened his eyes slightly, promptly turned over and covered his head with a blanket.
The large dark dragon sitting next to his bed whined loudly and yanked at the blanket with his teeth.
Hiccup uncovered his head and glared. "Go away. I'm tired, Toothless. Ask Dad to let you out."
The Night Fury seemed to glare right back and stalked into the ray of sunlight coming through a tiny window. Wait...sunlight?
Hiccup scrambled out of bed as fast as his legs would let him and hurried to the window. Looking out, he was nearly blinded by the sunlight refle

Nine Months Out of the Year
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third was having a bad day. Not only was it an incredibly awful day, even for the island of Berk, but the fact that he was outside in the horrible weather made it even worse. And of course to make matters worse, if his cheerful running around was any indication, his dragon seemed to love this weather. Every so often Toothless would run over and try to pull Hiccup out from underneath the eaves of their house to join him, but the young Viking was happy to remain under the roof and remain even the tiniest bit drier. Therefore, the dragon played in the rain and sleet all by himself and Hiccup watched.
"Isn't it weir
